Title of Position:  Sous Chef


Looking for a creative, and energetic Sous Chef to partner w/ and lead our team at an upscale, yet casual restaurant that strives for culinary excellence in Kapolei.  This is our 2nd Hawaii location with expanded service and reach.  This is a special opportunity that we’d love for you to be a part of.  It will be in the new Ka Makana Ali’i Shopping Center, the second largest mall in Hawaii.  This is a great brand new shopping center with lots of synergy and the best tenant mix.  This location will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner w/ a full bar.


Position Summary


Our Sous Chef needs to demonstrate exceptional leadership skills recruiting, training and mentoring the culinary staff.  This position is recognized as the technical expert, teacher and trainer for other sous chefs and line cooks.  

Responsibilities for the Executive Chef also include maintaining a safe, clean and professional kitchen at all times.

The responsibility of the Sous Chef is to assist in menu development, offers solutions, managing food costs, conducting proper inventory controls, and product ordering will be the Exec Chef responsibility as well as coaching the sous chef(s) to have an understanding of these responsibilities.

Sous Chef must implement and train current Federal HACCP, and State of Hawaii-Department of Health Sanitation Branch Chapter 50

The critical part of the Executive Chef position is ensuring every dish is delivered in a timely manner and exceeds our guest expectations and inspires the staff to do the same.


We are seeking innovative Sous Chef candidates with the following culinary skillset requirements


·       Minimum 3-5 years experience as an Sous Chef in a high volume upscale dining environment

·       Be food-focused with attention to detail, taste, presentation, and plating

·       Must be passionate about, and thrive on, the development and mentoring of others with emotional intelligence

·       Trust, honesty, integrity and a true passion for stellar customer satisfaction 

·       Flexibility and ability to adapt with last minute changes in daily operations, particularly at peak rush times

·       Ordering, manage food costs and track inventory

·       Create and manage labor and cleaning schedules

·       Must be in current knowledge of State/Federal Health & Safety codes

·       Act as a “brand ambassador” for our company at all times
