Job Description

Seeking a full-time Dispatcher for a local wholesaler in Kapolei. The Dispatcher will route outgoing deliveries and drivers according to route guidelines and establish priorities and schedule deliveries in a manner consistent with customer service goals.

This role will also process and follow-up with incoming customer calls, research and respond to questions, provide assistance with customer/sales bids, and assist in any customer service situations that arise.

The ideal candidates will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in routing/logistics/transportation. Apply now!

Hours

Full-time, Monday thru Friday, 10:00am-6:00pm. Sunday, 2:00pm-4:00pm. Must be flexible.

Pay

$17 to $18 an hour

Responsibilities

  • Review delivery routes to select the correct route based on the destination, shipment size and customer time requirements as well as other customer needs for each delivery address.
  • Control driver, truck, and route productivity by ensuring that each truck carries an appropriate load.
  • Schedule loads to minimize the use of third-party drivers.
  • Select specific trucks for each route based on volume and equipment availability.
  • Complete daily routing in a timely manner as to not create delays to the night warehouse staff.
  • Maintain customer locations, time windows and other information as directed by management. Communicate with appropriate departments to ensure that all orders satisfy Sales Department order submission requests and requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both prospective and existing customers.
  • Answer incoming customer calls regarding product inquires, pricing, product problems, service questions, and general client concerns.
  • Process orders coming in via internet, phone, email, and fax.
  • Review and analyze incoming orders to ensure order accuracy: proper identification of product, correct order numbers, customer numbers, product counts, and number of cases ordered; special instructions on orders pertaining to shipping, etc.
  • Assist in researching customer complaints regarding lost or damaged merchandise or shortages in shipment to determine responsibility.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all customer service-related functions.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED; 1-2 years related experience and/or training in routing/logistics/transportation; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to learn the delivery area to coordinate driver?s deliveries. Knowledge of distribution and transportation industry preferred. General understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations preferred. Previous delivery driver experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism with clients and work to establish a positive rapport with every caller.
  • Ability to occasionally assist with emergencies during off-hours as needed.
