Payroll Clerk (199338-04)

A well-known construction company is seeking a qualified Payroll Clerk to assist them ASAP through June 2021. This person will be working out of the company's Kapolei office for 32-40 hours per week.

Hours

Full-time, 32-40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Location

Kapolei, Oahu

Pay

$20 to $24 an hour

Responsibilities

  • Collect, verify, and reconcile timesheets.
  • Calculate wages, hours, benefits, tax withholdings, deductions, etc.
  • Prepare, process, and distribute paychecks.
  • Ensure compliance with Union contract terms.
  • Initiate and respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve concerns.
  • Prepare periodic payroll reports as well as monthly OCIP reporting, Union Trust Fund/Pension reports and Labor Statistics.
  • Perform account balance and payroll reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the accounting department as needed and perform clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc.

Qualifications

  • Accounting degree preferred.
  • Previous accounting experience is required, preferably in payroll in the construction industry.
  • Adequate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong 10-key typing and math skills.
  • Able to learn new systems quickly.
  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Able to work flexible hours as needed.
