Job Description

Immediately looking for candidates with food quality assurance experience for a full-time opening with a local food distributor!

This role will supervise employees of the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) department and implement and maintain local, state and federal regulations of all food safety standards (incl. Food Safety and security management system, HACCP, GMP, USDA and FDA).


Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm


Kapolei, Oahu


$50,000 a year


  • Supervise between 1-3 employees in the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) department. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Analyze quality control test results and provide feedback and interpretation to production management or staff.
  • Monitor performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Produce reports regarding nonconformance of products or processes, daily production quality, root cause analyses, or quality trends. (HACCP)
  • Stop production if serious product defects or food safety issues are present.
  • Identify quality problems or areas for improvement and recommend solutions.
  • Maintain relationships with various local, state and federal inspectors/officers, specifically with USDA and FDA.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of related food quality assurance experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • HACCP certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
