Medical Facility Cook (105459)#KONA_INDEEDA community medical facility is looking for an experienced Cook to join their team. In this role you will be responsible for food preparation, baking various desserts, and overseeing the kitchen helpers ensuring the line is running smoothly.
This position will last for a minimum of 12 weeks with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Hours
Full-time, Various Shifts/Hours: Sunday to Saturday, 5:00am-1:30pm or 9:30am-6:00pm
Location
Kealakekua, Big Island
Pay
$30 an hour
Responsibilities
- Review master menu to determine type and quantity of meat, vegetables, soup, salads and desserts to prepare for breakfast and lunch.
- Prepare modified diets under the direction of the supervisor.
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes using a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Oversee tray setting and salad making by the kitchen helper.
- Serve regular and modified/special dietary requirements meals for breakfast and lunch.
- Prepare and supervise washing and trimming of food items such as meats, vegetables, etc.
- Prepare (i.e., bake, roast, broil, steam, boil) meat, fish, vegetables and other foods.
- Prepare and bake various desserts when necessary.
- Perform general cleaning of kitchen equipment and kitchen.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a restaurant or kitchen required.
- Must have or able to obtain a valid Food Handler card for Hawaii.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
- Must be able to obtain a TB card.
