Hours
Full-time, Evening Shift: 2:45pm-11:15pm weekends and holidays as required
Location
Kealakekua, Big Island
Pay
$22 an hour
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient interviews to obtain accurate demographic and insurance information
- Verify insurance benefits and eligibility for primary and secondary carriers
- Enter and update patient information in the computer system
- Perform preadmission and admission procedures, including explaining hospital policies
- Collect deposits and secure signatures on necessary forms
- Assign patient beds and coordinate with nursing units
- Operate the switchboard and serve as central communications
- Announce emergencies and participate in disaster preparedness activities
- Maintain the facility's census and manage bed allocation
- Process incoming and outgoing mail
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient and employee information
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of experience in clerical work, data input, customer service, or related fields
- Proficiency in English grammar, spelling, and arithmetic
- Proficient typing skills
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Windows-based environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology and hospital procedures preferred
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends
- Ability to comply with a pre-employment drug test and State and Federal background check
- TB clearance required
