We are seeking TWO dedicated ER Registration Representatives for an evening shift at a medical facility in Kealakekua. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth patient registration, accurate data collection, and efficient communication within our client's healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Hours

Full-time, Evening Shift: 2:45pm-11:15pm weekends and holidays as required

Location

Kealakekua, Big Island

Pay

$22 an hour

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient interviews to obtain accurate demographic and insurance information
• Verify insurance benefits and eligibility for primary and secondary carriers
• Enter and update patient information in the computer system
• Perform preadmission and admission procedures, including explaining hospital policies
• Collect deposits and secure signatures on necessary forms
• Assign patient beds and coordinate with nursing units
• Operate the switchboard and serve as central communications
• Announce emergencies and participate in disaster preparedness activities
• Maintain the facility's census and manage bed allocation
• Process incoming and outgoing mail
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient and employee information
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years of experience in clerical work, data input, customer service, or related fields
• Proficiency in English grammar, spelling, and arithmetic
• Proficient typing skills
• Strong computer skills, particularly in Windows-based environments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of medical terminology and hospital procedures preferred
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends
• Ability to comply with a pre-employment drug test and State and Federal background check
• TB clearance required
