Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Building Maintenance Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day operations of a residential condominium complex on the coast in Kihei. This role combines general maintenance duties with weekend coverage responsibilities and light administrative support. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and takes pride in keeping a property running smoothly. Hours

Full-time, Thursday-Monday or Friday-Tuesday 6:30am-3pm, on call and overtime as needed

Pay

$28 to $31 an hour

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond to weekend calls (Friday afternoon–Monday morning); overtime provided as applicable.
  • Coordinate with utility staff to ensure weekend tasks are completed effectively.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and respond to emergency repairs as needed.
  • Maintain and service equipment, including pool systems, ventilation fans, motors, and grills.
  • Clean and prepare the pool deck area; test and adjust pool chemical levels.
  • Maintain accurate logs (unit entry, plumbing backups, elevator service, etc.).
  • Report safety issues, maintenance concerns, and suspicious activity to management.
  • Support and professionally enforce community rules.
  • Assist the Resident Manager with errands such as supply pickups (mileage reimbursed).

Qualifications

  • Ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong communication skills; fluent in English.
  • Recent and related building maintenance experience required.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO), or willing to obtain certification.
  • Basic knowledge of: carpentry, electrical systems, plumbing, and irrigation systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs and general computer software.
  • Flexible availability, especially on weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to comply with a pre-employment drug test and State and Federal background check.
