Position: Pre-Kindergarten Teacher Aide
Starting Date: Late July 2026
Island School seeks a temporary PreK Teaching Assistant with a commitment to independent school education for the 2026-2027 school year due to maternity leave. This temporary position requires the knowledge and work experience in early childhood education and the ability to relate to children and the school community. The position begins in late July for the 2026-2027 academic year for approximately 6-8 weeks. Annual pay range for this full-time faculty member role for 26-27, depending on years of experience and education: $34,000-$45,000.
The successful candidate should have the ability to communicate with students, parents, and colleagues and
a desire to be part of an independent school community. Candidates should have experience in early childhood instruction to work effectively with a range of learners, demonstrate a passion for teaching pre-kindergarten students (3-5 years old) with effective classroom management strategies. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with colleagues to supervise children and implementing program content alongside full participation in the life of the school. 2+years of relevant teaching experience preferred.
