POSITION SUMMARY

POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

Our company is seeking a hard-working and resourceful Sales Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting customers with product selections, answering telephone calls, and communicating with customers to provide solutions. The candidate will also have some experience with inventorying and receiving of products. This position requires strong verbal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and problem-solve in an efficient manner.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Performs inventory control branch functions.

2.Plans, organizes and schedules sales calls to service existing accounts; develops new accounts through aggressive sales techniques.

3. Maintains product knowledge by attending seminars and trade shows, meeting with supplier representatives, and by reviewing literature.

4.Introduces new products through demonstration, and explanation of usage and application rates in order to gain customer acceptance.

5. Willingness to work at the order desk for training on proprietary data entry applications and when needed.

6.Services order requests, reviews delivery tags for accuracy, supplies product technical and safety information to customers, advises customers of product changes and recommends appropriate products.

7.Ensures that all sales are made in conformance with Federal, State and City & County agency regulations.

8.Maintains an adequate inventory by reviewing product requirements, requesting supplemental purchases, and providing sales forecasts.

9.Maintains and increases customer sales levels for all assigned accounts.

10.Increases customer sales revenues by selling new products and obtaining sales by taking business away from the competition

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

1.Excellent customer service and communication skills.

2.Excellent knowledge of the commodities distributed by the company.

3.Self-motivated with demonstrated sales skills.

4.Working knowledge of governmental regulations governing the handling, storing, and transporting of hazardous products.

5. Valid driver’s license must be maintained while employed. Safe driving habits and no texting while driving.

6.High school diploma or equivalent.

 

Physical demands:
1. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
2. Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

3.Ability to drive a vehicle without any physical limitations.
