Job Description

Island School, a private, college preparatory school for students in grade PK - 12 is looking for a full-time Upper Elementary School Teacher Aide to begin in August for the 2022-23 school year.  The Aide would split their time between two upper elementary school classes. 

  

It is expected the successful candidate would:


Assist the classroom teacher during class time

Monitor students at snack, recess, and lunch breaks

Accompany students to enrichment classes

Occasionally serve as the back-up for our after-school care (Do Drop Inn) from 3:00-5:30

Perform additional duties as needed


In addition, a candidate should possess the following personal and professional qualifications:

Experience working with elementary age students

Ability to manage students and appropriately correct behavior

Strong collaboration skills

Ability to follow guidance and instruction of teacher

A sense of humor, warmth of personality, and energy

Associate’s Degree preferred
