Job Description

The Dental Assistant supports the dental care team by preparing patients, assisting during procedures, maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment, and ensuring efficient daily operations. This role is ideal for a customer-service-oriented individual with a strong desire to enter and grow in the dental field.

Hours

Full-time, Mon/Tue/Fri 6:30am- 4:30pm; Wed 7:30am- 6:00pm; Thur 8:00am- 12:00pm; No weekends

Location

Mililani, Oahu

Pay

$23 to $25 an hour

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during examinations and dental procedures.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials.
  • Sterilize and maintain dental instruments in accordance with infection control protocols.
  • Perform general clinic support duties and assist with daily maintenance of the facility.
  • Greet patients and provide a welcoming, professional experience.
  • Prepare patients for treatment and ensure comfort throughout their visit.
  • Educate patients on basic oral hygiene and post-treatment care as directed.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform general clerical and administrative tasks.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Schedule appointments and support front office operations as needed.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies.
  • Follow OSHA, CDC, and state dental board regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinic environment.
  • Adhere to all office policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor.
  • Strong desire to enter and grow in the dental field.
  • Minimum of 6 months clerical or administrative experience.
  • Ability to perform general clinic work and maintenance.
  • Dental or medical background (highly desirable).
  • Experience in a dental or healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt.
