Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused CDL-A Driver/Warehouse Associate to join our team.  This hybrid role combines professional delivery driving with hands-on warehouse operations, supporting the distribution and storage of insulation accessories, firestopping materials, and industrial products.  The ideal candidate is safety-minded, detail-oriented, and committed to providing excellent service to both internal and external customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Driving Responsibilities (Primary when assigned):

  • Safely operate a Tractor-trailer (Class A CDL), flatbed truck and other company vehicles for deliveries and pickups, ensuring timely and accurate transportation of materials.
  • Load and unload delivery vehicles, ensuring materials are secure and handled with care.
  • Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and complete all required vehicle inspection reports and delivery documentation.
  • Represent the company professionally at customer sites with a strong focus on customer service and communication.

Warehouse Responsibilities (When not driving):

  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to receive, stock, pick, and prepare orders.
  • Accurately calculate material measurements, including square footage and linear footage, for order fulfillment and shipment preparation.
  • Receive deliveries, unload containers, inspect shipments, and restock inventory.
  • Process paperwork related to receiving, inventory, and shipping, ensuring accuracy and organization.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Perform basic maintenance on warehouse equipment and delivery vehicles.
  • Performs other related duties as directed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid CDL-A driver's license (required for delivery duties).
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. regularly and perform physical tasks in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to clear screening to obtain base passes (DBIDS, TWIC, etc) to access bases for deliveries and pick-ups.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Prior experience operating forklifts and warehouse equipment.
  • Basic math skills for material measurements and freight calculations.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and time management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in both warehouse and driving environments.  Warehouse work may involve indoor and outdoor conditions, including exposure to high heart, tight spaces, poor lighting, and other warehouse-related hazards.  Driving duties involve operating a tractor-trailer and other vehicles, which may include driving in heavy traffic, inclement weather, and varying road conditions.  The employee will be required to safely climb in and out of trucks, secure loads, perform vehicle inspections, and engage in physical activity such as loading and unloading materials.  Extended periods of sitting while driving and standing or walking while in the warehouse are required.  The employee must correctly and consistently utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and appropriate work gear.  Work may be performed independently for extended periods or as part of a team.

Work involves prolonged standing and walking; lifting and carrying materials and tools; repetitive use of tools; occasional crawling; working in tight spaces; working at various heights; climbing and descending stairs, ladders, and scaffolding.

For employees assigned to driving duties, prolonged periods of sitting while operating a vehicle are also required, along with physical activity related to loading, unloading, and securing freight.
