EMIP GRANTS ADMINISTRATOR
$6,399-$9,600 per month, salary commensurate w/ training and experience
Exempt, non-civil service, temporary, full-time appointment. The purpose of the Environmental Management Infrastructure Project (EMIP) is to support the implementation and impact of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) grant awards and ensure capacity to implement environmental recovery projects after disasters and emergencies, to protect Hawaii’s water, land, and air, mitigating their impact on public health.
The purpose of this position is to provide overall administrative oversight for EPA grants to assure grant goals, objectives, activities and reporting requirements are met. Duties include coordinating pre- and post-grant activities across the Environmental Health Administration, grant compliance, data collection and analysis, ensuring the maximum use of grant funding and monitoring progression, accomplishing scope of work, acting as liaison on grant activities, advises and supports the Environmental Management Division Chief and EMIP Assistant Administrator. May supervise EMIP Grant Managers. This position may also develop procedures for grant applications, implementation, reporting and grant closing activities.
Minimum Qualification(s)
EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
EXPERIENCE: Four and one-half (4 ½) years of progressively responsible professional program management, administrative or analytical experience involving locating, monitoring, evaluating, obtaining and/or administering federal, state and/or private grants. One (1) year of supervisory work experience which included planning & directing work, advising, training & development, and performance evaluation.
LICENSE: Possession of a valid State of Hawaii Driver’s License is preferred.

This position is exempt from civil service and considered temporary in nature.
