Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity for Infectious Diseases (ELC)
Data Processing User Support Technician

$3,566.00 - $4,337.00 per month, salary commensurate w/ training and experience

 

Exempt, non-civil service, full-time, temporary appointment.  The primary purpose of this position is to provide information technical assistance to the State Laboratories Division staff in the use of information technology equipment, systems and applications; will assist with hardware and software troubleshooting, training of providers and in ongoing data entry.

 

 

Minimum Qualification(s)

 

EDUCATION:     Graduation from high school with satisfactory completion of courses demonstrating knowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuation.

 

EXPERIENCE:     Two (2) years of experience in office systems and procedures with one (1) of those years involved in data processing, feasibility studies, programming and systems development.

 

KNOWLEDGE:  Basic diagnostic methods and procedures to resolve user problems. Working knowledge of office application software such as word processing, spreadsheet, database, etc.; spelling and grammar.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Plans, coordinates, and provides assistance, instructions, and training on the proper use of personal computer hardware and software; prepare outlines, visual aids, exercises and informational materials for group presentations. Provide effective on-site and telephone support services to users in the diagnosis and system error, network problems, and resolution of user problems. Communicate effective both orally and in writing, with individuals and large and small groups of people.

 

LICENSE:  Valid State of Hawaii Driver’s license is preferred.
