Pandemic Response Expansion Project (PREP) Health Equity (HE)
Point of Care Testing (POCT) Specialist

$4,252 -$5,178 per month, salary commensurate w/ training and experience

 

Exempt, non-civil service, full-time, temporary appointment.  The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the Point of Care Testing (POCT) supply chain, working with staff and vendors to order supplies, managing the inventory and distribution of the supplies to POCT venues, and directing the POCT on site logistics. This position also assists testing providers, which include organizing and setting up testing stations and fielding any technical questions from staff during the POCT event. This position is to promote health equity among the various communities, as testing partners are being sought so that SARS-CoV-2 testing will be widely available in the community. It is envisioned that these new testing partners will be needed to help with maintaining community POCT supplies and with assuring that testing staff are properly trained, quality assurance, of the supplies and tests, and reporting of test results to public health officials.

 

 

Minimum Qualification(s)

 

EDUCATION:      Graduation from a four (4) year accredited college or university with a baccalaureate or higher degree, a degree in Biological Science or Molecular Biology preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:     Experience with supply chain management, and logistics; consultative or administrative work; in-person or live virtual presentations, may come from previous employment or from related experience in college courses; performing laboratory tests, preferred.

 

LICENSE:  Valid Hawaii State driver’s license.

This position is exempt from civil service and considered temporary in nature.  Therefore, if you are appointed to the position, your employment will be considered to be “at will,” which means that you may be discharged from your employment at the prerogative of your department head or designee at any time.
