Job Description


Under the general direction of the Housekeeping Manager. Housekeeping General Cleaner will be directly responsible for performing general cleaning and upkeep of an assigned area within the facility. Specific duties will vary depending on assignment and will include a variety of general cleaning tasks as described below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with Housekeeping Manager on daily operations.
  • Answer immediately to request from guests, as well as from other departments.
  • Conduct all required cleaning for assigned area.
  • Gather and empty waster receptacles.
  • Knowledge of cleaning products and their use.
  • Sweeping and mopping of floors and stairways.
  • Dusting of furniture, fixtures, ventilation and other surfaces.
  • Polish glass and metal surfaces.
  • Requisition supplies and/or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Follow all safety and personnel rules and regulation.
  • Cleaning of restrooms and other assigned duties.
  • Provide support to team to achieve common goals.
  • Maintain quality standards and expectations.
  • Ensure company standards are followed in welcoming and acknowledging all guests.
  • Ability to work effectively and positively with team members, military families, and individuals at all levels of different organizations.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work.
  • Able to work to deadlines.
  • Ability to use sound judgment to make decisions and problem solve.
  • Ability to adapt successfully to changing situations and environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and tasks in timely manners.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to obtain base pass to access military installation.
  • Without assistance, carry, place, move, or lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds; with assistance for items beyond 25 pounds.
  • Perform other duties as requested


High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
