Civil Construction Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated Civil Construction Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse infrastructure projects while contributing to the successful delivery of complex construction initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to safety and quality excellence.

Responsibilities

- Manage and coordinate all phases of civil construction projects from planning through completion, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards
- Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure proper implementation in the field
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress, verify compliance with design specifications, and identify potential issues
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, architects, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation including daily reports, progress updates, change orders, and as-built drawings
- Perform quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and budget tracking for assigned projects
- Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, and material specifications
- Identify and resolve technical problems and design conflicts in a timely manner
- Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and environmental requirements
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical guidance to field personnel
- Monitor and document project costs, schedule variances, and implement corrective actions as needed
- Assist in the preparation of bid packages and evaluation of contractor proposals

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil construction project management or engineering
- Professional Engineer license or Engineer-in-Training certification preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and project management software
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment used in civil infrastructure projects
- Excellent understanding of construction contracts, specifications, and industry standards
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings and technical documents
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Project
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required
- OSHA 30-hour certification preferred
- Experience with roadway, site development, utilities, or grading projects highly desirable
