Hourly Wage Range: $28.12 - $31.25

What will I be doing?



Primary function Pastry Cook 1 is to cover the Executive Pastry Chef's days off. Taking full charge of the pastry shop responsibility to include ordering, work assignment and training. Responsible for maintaining, setting up, food production and quality control of all pastry, bread and dessert items.

     * Prepare all menu food items according to standard recipes and as specified, to ensure consistency of product. Prepares all cakes, pastries, cookies, pies, hot and cold desserts and chocolates, into finished pieces that are eye appealing for restaurants and banquet functions.
     * Assumes full responsibility of pastry shop during chefs days off or absence.
     * Visually inspect, select and use only food items of the highest standard in the preparation of all menu items.
     * Check and control the proper storage of product, checking on portion control, especially in highly perishable food items, labeling, dating and and proper rotation.
     * Keep all refrigeration, equipment, and storage and working areas in clean working condition in order to comply with food safety and sanitation standards, proper use of sanitizing solution.
     * Ensures HACCP compliance through temperature monitoring, good food safety and sanitation practices and maintaining of the HACCP log, hot and cold holding.

What are we looking for?



M​inimum 4-year professional baking/pastry production experience desirable in a hotel or free-standing restaurant capacity.



Ability to obtain tuberculosis clearance certificate.



All team members must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
