Customer Service Intern - Wailuku

POSITION SUMMARY

Join BEI Hawaii’s leading distributor of agricultural and industrial chemicals, fertilizer and specialty products.

Our company is seeking a hard-working and resourceful Customer Service Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an interest in sales/customer service and agriculture. The Intern will be responsible for assisting customers, answering telephone calls, and supporting the Branch Manager. This position requires strong verbal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and problem-solve in an efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Handles customer phone calls and takes accurate messages, if necessary.

2. Balances cash drawer, prepares cash & credit card reports, makes bank deposits, and provides receipts to Accounting Department personnel daily for processing.

3. Assists in coordinating deliveries to customers.

4. Handles customer complaints and problems in a professional manner and within company policy.

5. Learns the basic product lines sold by the company.

6. Learns sales techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Excellent customer service and communication skills.

2. Excellent attention to detail.

4. Interest in commodities the Company distributes – such as agricultural, turf & ornamental, pest control and/or industrial products – is not required, but desired.

5. Demonstrated computer aptitude. Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Experience with AS400 is not required, but desirable.

6. Ability to learn general office procedures and various company policies relating to sales, billings, the price book, inventory and record keeping.

Physical demands:

1. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

2. Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
