Job Summary

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Director of Leasing is responsible for new leases, lease renewals, lease recertifications and managing tenant violations and unit inspections for the affordable housing units at Hale Makana O Waiale.

 

 

Essential Duties

1. Reviews and approves all current lease renewals and recertifications as directed by HUD, LIHTC, RHTF, HOME or any additional regulatory agencies.
2. Responsible for the overall coordination and execution of the lease renewal processes for current tenants and potential new tenants.
3.In collaboration with the Executive Director, the Facilities/Maintenance Manager, Security/Operations enforces compliance of all tenants to the rules and guidelines set forth in the lease, tenant guidelines and regulations in the Hawaii Landlord-Tenant Code.
4.Ensures the accuracy of files for audits and monitoring visits by the HHFDC, Spectrum, the County of Maui and/or any independent auditor

Secondary Duties

1. Supervises the Leasing Administrative Assistant position and is responsible for hiring, training and development, performance management, to ensure the highest quality of staff performance.
2. Supports and monitors cost containment of all expenditures against the annual approved budget. 3.Excellent organizational, planning and reporting proficiency.
4. Effectively communicate, present information and respond to questions from tenants, colleagues and the Board of Directors.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages 1 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 1 employees in the following departments: Hale Makana Administration: Administrative Assistant. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.

 

 

Education

This position requires an Associate's degree (or other 2-year degree).

 Certification and Licensing

- Must have or obtain a Certificate as a Certified Occupancy Specialist by the National Center for Housing Management (NCHM,) or obtain certification within the first 3-6 months of employment.
-Must have a Certificate as a Certified Credit Compliance Professional by Spectrum (or obtain certification within the first 3-6 months of employment.)
