Locally owned King Power Systems Inc, the premiere generator provider in Hawaii, is hiring a Generator Service Manager to join our team! This position will manage the entire service operation, including overseeing the Generator Service Technicians and working as a technician in the field.


  • Manage the service operation, including technical service, repair, maintenance, and project management. Work with the
  • Office Manager on weekly/monthly scheduling.
  • Provide direct oversight of the Generator Service Technicians on a day-to-day basis.
  • Responsible for delegating and directing service tasks, monitoring the progress of current projects, and managing service team members to ensure the team’s objectives are met and they are working as a cooperative team.
  • Review and approve all Generator Technician parts requests before orders are placed.
  • Audit service work and customer service to ensure the company’s high standards, efficiency, and productivity goals are met.
  • Responsible for shop organization and maintenance in all service areas.
  • Work as a Generator Service Technician in the field.
  • Attend and participate in all department and company meetings. Attend educational conferences/training/seminars as recommended/approved.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Office Manager and/or Owner/General Manager.

Previous work history as a Generator Mechanic with previous management/supervisory responsibility.


  • Electrical: Thorough knowledge of 12-24 VDC electrical control systems and thorough understanding of 120-480 VAC alternators and transfer switches- all brands.
  • Systems: Procedures, methods, and techniques to design, install, repair, and maintain generators, engines, controls, fuel systems, exhaust systems, ducting, and monitoring- local and remote.
  • Engines: Knowledge of diesel, gasoline, natural gas, and propane-driven internal combustion engines.
  • Equipment Operation: Thorough knowledge of the proper procedures for operating, inspecting, and maintaining
  • Emergency Power Generation equipment. Prior experience working with Cummins generators is preferred but not necessary.
  • Safety: Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions, and safety regulations related to equipment operation, hazardous materials, traffic patterns and conditions, and other work-related precautions.
  • Engine Repair: Ability to utilize a variety of shop tools and equipment to perform routine repair work of equipment, with knowledge and ability to overhaul from the block.


  • Management/Supervisory: Previous management/supervisory experience involving supervising multiple staff members.
  • Interpersonal Relationships: Develops and maintains cooperative and professional internal and external relationships.
  • Judgment/Decision Making: Use logic and reasoning to understand, analyze, and evaluate situations; anticipate, identify, and assess potentially dangerous, unusual, or deviating situations.
  • Time & Project Management: Able to plan and organize daily work routines. Establishes priorities for the completion of work by sound time-management methodology. The ability to function independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
  • Communication: Communicate ideas effectively, including preparing reports and logs. Ability to listen and understand directions, information, and ideas presented verbally and in writing. Proficient with creating repair estimates- sourcing parts and estimating repair times.
  • Accountability & Accuracy: Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Customer Service: Ability to provide excellent customer service to all customers.
  • Industry Knowledge: Maintain a solid working knowledge of industry regulations, restrictions, and laws, ensuring the company’s adherence to these regulations and remaining current on the industry standards and innovations, materials, tools, and processes.


  • Full-time, Salary Exempt.
  • Very Competitive Salary Based on Experience; Range $60,000-100,000
