Maui Emergency Medical Services Physician

$56.61 - $150.84 per hour, salary commensurate with training and experience

 

Exempt, temporary, part-time non-civil service appointment. The medical director's primary responsibility is quality control, the issuance of Standing Orders, and issuance of transportation guidelines which are the medical protocols for patient care. This requires regular review and updating. They manage complaints, compliments and issues from pre-hospital personnel, hospital staff, and the public regarding medical care provided by the ambulance system. They host regular meetings and are essential in the planning, implementation, and quality improvement of the State Comprehensive Emergency Medical Services and Trauma Systems.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:  Graduation from an accredited school of medicine with a degree of Doctor of Medicine, completion of one (1) year of internship in a recognized hospital, and licensed to practice medicine in the State of Hawaii.  Must have a valid up-to-date State and Federal DEA license.

 

EXPERIENCE:  One (1) year of experience in the conduct and delivery of prehospital emergency medical services as a physician practicing emergency medicine in a hospital or agency which involved active participation in and major responsibilities for the development, management, execution and coordination of programs, policies, and procedures in the delivery of emergency medical services.  Experience in training prehospital personnel is preferable.

 

LICENSE:  License to practice medicine in the State of Hawaii.
