Job Description

A mid-size transportation company is seeking an experienced HR professional to join their team as the HR Coordinator/Manager and help oversee and manage HR duties related to payroll, recruitment, and onboarding. This role will start off as a coordinator to gain training and experience, and eventually will become the HR Manager.

The ideal candidate will have their bachelor's degree in business administration/human resources, a minimum of 2 years related experience, and be familiar with federal motor carrier safety regulations.

This is a full-time position with a Monday to Friday schedule and offers great benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), holiday and vacation pay, and many more amazing benefits.

$50,000 to $55,000 a year

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weeky payroll.
  • Assist with payroll reporting and reconciliation of vacation, sick, and PTO balances.
  • Assist with recruitment efforts by posting available jobs.
  • Process new hires and coordinate onboarding orientation.
  • Conduct exit interviews and processing for employees who have resigned, retired, or been terminated.
  • Conduct random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Conduct annual review of driver history records.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain HR and safety and health policies, programs, and practices.
  • Plan and coordinate annual benefit open enrollment for management and administrative staff.
  • Attend monthly meetings.
  • Schedule annual road evaluations as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor?s degree in business administration/human resources or related field required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years related experience required.
  • Current SHRM membership a plus.
  • Proficient with federal employment laws and regulations including FLSA, OSHA, and FMCSR.
  • Proficient with state laws and regulations including wage & hour laws, prepaid health care act, disability compensations laws (i.e., TDI and workers' compensation).
  • Knowledgeable of DOT regulations.
  • Familiarity with discrimination, disability, and privacy laws.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail and results oriented, motivated, dependable.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical exam and drug test.
